| I tell you, there is nothing quite so beautiful as a silver mirrored vial. Oh, Tollens Reaction, how I love thee.

| I'm at work with lots of stuff to do in my head, but no stuff to do it with. I'm just waiting for stuff to be mailed here and for people to get back to me. I guess that's what you get for trying to do chemistry in a non-chemical science department.
I've decided I want to switch from the chemistry BA to a BS degree. That means that I won't be going abroad next spring, but I'm looking into going to Germany to do some research next summer. That would be awesome.
Tom's in Germany now and he seems to be having a great time. I'm happy and jealous :)
I don't know how much more I can take of this sitting in an office writing emails to people who don't write back and waiting for stuff to be mailed to me. Things will pick up soon, but for now, it really sucks.

| WHAT? A Xanga Post???Hello to all my fans. I apologize for dropping of the face of the Xanga planet since October, but, quite honestly, it doesn't hold my interest much anymore. Especially since some people (cough cough HOWLETT! cough!) have protected their posts. You're not completely dead to me, but you're getting there ;)
I would try to catch up on all my goings-on since I last posted, but that would take WAY too much time. Quick summary: Picked up a minor in computational science that I'm not sure I can complete, had a great first semester, had a lovely Christmas at home with the family, my family decided to screw Christmas next year and go to Puerto Rico, I started my second semester (analytical chem, o-chem II, computer programming, and german translation), I joined Kappa Delta sorority, I'm applying for several research grants for this summer, I was hired to be a counselor for a week-long summer camp for girls interested in science, dropped being treasurer from College Democrats and picked up the treasurer position for Wittenberg Feminist Union, started volunteering at the Westcott House (a Frank Lloyd Wright home in Springfield), and am up to my eyeballs in stuff to do in the next few weeks.
Things with the boy are going great, despite a little situation involving a pair of my underwear, his laundry basket, and his mother. You can fill in the details.
We welcomed Tom's German exchange student, Marc, to our home on Saturday. He seems very nice, so I hope my brother's influence won't rub off on him too much. ;) I think Tom will have a great time in HDH this summer and am very excited for him.
Well, it's about 11:00 so I should go get some lunch so I can get ready to work non-stop (class, lab, meetings, homework) until about midnight tonight.
Peace, love, and carboxylic acids!
